For more information contact Clay Larsen at firstname.lastname@example.org Since 1993 Bike to the Sea has been working to create the Northern Strand Trail: a trail free of cars from the Malden/Everett area of Massachusetts to the beaches in Revere, Lynn and Nahant. Some 7.5 miles of trail from Everett, through Malden, Revere, and Saugus, are now open. (Take a look at last year's cleanup effort along the Revere portion of the trail.)
Bike to the Sea, Inc. is holding a week of spring cleaning on the Northern Strand Trail. Volunteers are needed to clean up the trail on Saturday, April 23 in Everett and Malden, and on Saturday, April 30 in Revere. Both events would make great Earth Day activities for individuals or groups. Those willing to pitch in on the Malden and Everett cleanups will meet at the kiosk across the street from the Cambridge Health Alliance,195 Canal Street in Malden at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 23. The cleanup will continue along the trail there until 1 p.m. Those willing to pitch in on the Revere cleanup will meet at the corner of Salem Street and North Marshall Street in Revere at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. The cleanup will continue along the trail there until 1:30 p.m. Families and children are encouraged to participate.
